The Dolomites, one of the most fascinating places in the world among mountain and landscape photography lovers, offer unique emotions every season, but during the winter months, cold temperatures and the snow make these places isolated from mass tourism, ideal for an adventure in contact with nature.
The Three Peaks of Lavaredo, the Cinque Torri and the Giau Pass, are certainly among the symbolic places of these mountains. And it is precisely in these places that we have decided to give you a unique and adventurous photographic experience.

Tour schedule
Day 1
Arrival at Munich airport by 1 p.m. After the presentation and an introduction of what we will experience during the week, we will leave to reach Lake Braies in about 4 hours, where we will stay at the hotel (Pension Panorama) and spend the first night there. After the check-in, we’ll go to some local restaurants and then we’ll reach Lake Braies and start with the first night photo session. This lake is surely one of the most famous of all the Dolomites and in this period, we could enjoy it in total relax. The lake will be frozen and surrounded by snowy peaks, if the sky will be clear we could capture the winter Milky Way.
Day 2
We’ll get up early to capture the sunrise over the lake. After the photo session we will have breakfast at the hotel and then check out and reach the Rolle Pass in about 2 hours 40. We will stay at the hotel (Smy Hotel Bellamonte) and relax in the SPA and Turkish bath. At 1 p.m. we will leave to walk to the legendary Pale di San Martino in about 40/50 minutes. Up there, in front of the Cimon della Pala you can enjoy one of the most beautiful scenery of all the Dolomites. We will start the shooting session at sunset and at blue time, once the night session is over, we will go back to the van to reach the hotel.
Day 3
After having photographed the sunrise at the Rolle Pass and after breakfast at the hotel, we will leave to Cortina d’Ampezzo where we will stay for the next two nights at the hotel (small Pocol). This property is located in a central area between the Falzarego pass and the Giau pass. We will reach the Falzarego pass by sunset, which offers numerous spots aimed at the fantastic Sas de Stria, Lagazuoi and Tofana. After the photo session we will stop at a local restaurant to taste typical dishes and then return to the Falzarego pass to capture the Milky Way and, if the sky is clear, you will see all its beauty from the Cinque Torri to Sas de Stria.
Day 4
The Giau Pass will be our perfect sunrise spot. This spot is designed for both panoramic photography and single shots. During the day we will visit Lake Misurina and Lake Antorno from where you can see the famous Three Peaks of Lavaredo. Depending on weather conditions we will decide where to make the sunset, Lake Antorno will certainly be one of them. After dinner, we will return to the Giau Pass for the night photo session. Here you can take the arch of the Milky Way exactly above Gusella, the famous mountain at the tip of the pass.
Day 5
Alba in the lesser known Lake Dones, a real pearl, nestled among the fir trees, offers an incredible view of the Tofane. After breakfast we will check out and move to the Cinque Torri car park, where we will take the chairlift that will take us shortly to the Cinque Torri. As soon as you get off the chairlift, your breath stops and your heart beats, here the view is something incredible. We will settle down at the Rifugio Scoiattoli, which is a very characteristic high mountain refuge. Here you will have a great time; in a few meters you can find a lot of 360 degrees spots. After sunset, we will go to dinner and come back out for the night photo session.

Useful tips
Each participant must know the basic settings of their camera. In December at that altitude, temperatures can drop considerably, especially at night. We recommend that you wear several layers to protect yourself from cold and wind during the shooting session. Gloves, socks and thermal underwear, with one or more padded middle layers and the outer water-repellent layer.
Extra batteries, with the cold and long night exposures, they discharge very quickly.
